I got bored today so I thought up an introduction to a story set in the fourth age of Middle Earth, like you do, and wondered, if I wrote some sort of intro, just a couple of paragraphs, what would it read like if it went open to the rest of the Kin to add the next bit, say one person writing another paragraph to move the story along, then someone else adds to it, and so on....who knows, it could be a good story or it may end up being a pile of cack, but its just for fun.
So please feel free to add to the story, just a couple of paragraphs, lets make this a short story, and see where we get to. Just a couple of things to note, try and keep with the spirit of middle earth, no masked gunmen or fanatical terrorists please hehe, and use your imagination.
(Insert Title here) <----- hehe, leave the title to last
The land of Gondor has prospered since the return of the king 200 years ago. Old alliances renewed has led to a wealth from trade and culture throughout Middle Earth. Dwarves now trade openly their metals as men do their crops and arts. Elves, who left these shores two millennia ago, still remain in small numbers around Mirkwood and happily provide hospitality to any wayward traveller.
The biggest difference has been in the Shire. Tales of Frodo and Sam on their quest to destroy the ring of power, set alight a dull flame the hearts of those hobbits inquisitive. If it was not for such stories of adventure, this flicker of a flame may have easily have been doused by the comforts and safety of the shire. More and more young hobbits leave the green lands of the Shite to travel, see the world, experience for themselves the fruits of Middle Earth and to adventure as Frodo and Sam once did so that songs may be sung of them at festival times.
Yet in this time of change something stirs in the ashen lands of Mordor once again. This time it is not a necromancer, nor any Orc or Goblin, but a Hobbit. What men would call a halfling, Orcs now call a master. A once simple yet adventurous hobbit, who by chance came across an undead Sorcerer called Marduk. Disguised as an old man Marduk seduced the nieve Hobbit into a pact of power, whereby thr spirit of Marduk would live on in spirt inside the body of the halfling. Ever present in the back of his tiny mind would Marduk control and manipulate, passing on his wisdom and power. His power laying with the ability to turn the most deadliest of foes into the most greatest of allies, with but a single word. No wizard can break its spell with mere conventional lore and spells, it would take a Dwarf and an intriguing find in the depths of the abandoned mines of Darmun to prevent Marduk from uniting the banners of the Orc, Goblin, Troll and Warg into an unstoppable war machine that would once again threaten the safety and freedom of Middle Earth .....
okay peeps carry it on...I have left the location of the mine free for anyone to make up and also the name of the dwarf and the Hobbit that the sorcerer Marduk has infested. have fun writing. Just a few paragraphs will do, sorry for the length of mine, had to set up the story and background.
Enjoy!
