wel i was wondering how many of you got a headset?? it would be cool to talk to each other in games even in sacred if you want but to comunicate with each other in certan games can be very usefull for example -battle field -counter strike -F.E.A.R. -sacred? there are some progs you can use like -xfire (doesnt support all games) -Teamspeak www.goteamspeak.com-ventrillo -Skype i think Teamspeak would be the best choice but i dint test all of them so let me know what you all think would be cool right ?

wel i heard that skype was cool to its free i think but it uses a lot of bandwidth... and with with teamspeak you can also put passwords on a connection so not everyone can join your channel and you only use a bandwidth for 1 conection no nothing of ventrillo i have it but dint test it yet need people to test it with to though

Okay well since I seem to have more experience using the different ones I will elaborate for you Teamspeak and Ventrillo are almost the same.... and here are the probs I have found with them: 1. They tend to sound a lot like a speaker phone... yah know each time a person speaks it cuts off any noise from anyone else so you tend to have a harder time chatting with people with accidentally cutting each other off all the time... also if someone has a lot of background or static noise around them (like a fan or heavy breathing) it can make it impossible for anyone to talk because their noise takes over. 2. The way to fix the above is to remove the "hands free" option but then the person has to hold down a certain key or set of keys to talk which can be really hard to do while playing. 3. There are a bunch of semi-complicated settings and depending on where each persons is set some people can sound like they are whispering and others can sound like they are screaming which makes setting your volume really hard. 4. Yes passwording the room is great but if you want to have a private chat in a room that others know the password they could come on without much warning and maybe pickup something you are saying that you don't want them to hear. Okay as for Skype which is my favorite: 1. You can either voice chat with a single person or do a voice chat conference but you have to invite each person to that conference... This is good and bad at the same time... On the one hand there is no risk of people overhearing conversations they shouldn't because you have to invite them.... but if you are in game and someone new signs on you have to minimize and go to skype to invite them to chat which can be annoying on occasions. 2. The voice controls are automatic which is great... so there aren't as many problems with sound and background noise and it is just like a telephone so no cutting off effect. Though you might still have some volume issues depending on how loud people talk and the quality of their mic and also how close their mouth is to the mic... 3. You can IM as well as voice chat easily on Skype so for those who do not have a mic or if you are wanting to talk with more than one person at a time but not in the same room you can IM with one and voice with the other or just IM both. Also I have Skype so you can all chat with me (though I tend to be on yahoo way more often cause that is what everyone else I know uses the most). Ummm I think thats it.... hope that helped with the decision making

Oh skype can be great but Ive personally run into problems with it where it doesn't work for everyone.. Not sure why LOL Im starting to think that was operator error... haha NO it wasn't me I had a vent server set up for a while but my hubby messed with the setting of our server and it just stopped working all together.. But When it was in use.. It was easy and didn't have any run over sound issues between the 3 of us who were on it. Mostly Ive been using yahoo conference in game with a few of us and it worked pretty well, without lag for the 3 of us. Msn voice works well when its just 2 people.. no lag there at all either. But msn wont allow more than 2 to voice at a time. I haven't tried the xfire voice option yet. So Im with whatever the final decision is
