We've talked about loot distribution rules several times, but the only things that written down is from our Raid requirements post:
You only get to roll for items that fit your class
You only get to win 1 item per evening (unless there are no one else to win it/want it)
I think the rules we use to distrbute loot is pretty good, but i feel it deserves it's own post, and part 1 could do with a bit of fleshing out. This will also give us a place to point new members to so they have a chance of knowing the rules before raiding with us
- You only get to win 1 item per evening (unless no one else wants it)
Thats pretty self-explanatory.
- You only get to roll for items that fit your class
Thats a bit less clear - I'll try to break it down a bit:
You only get to roll for items that match the primary role you are signed up for (see thread: dtemplarsclan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rift&action=display&thread=2725)
Perhaps add you can't roll for gear as a primary untill you're signed up in that thread - to force people to do it
If no primary roles roll for an item everyone can roll for 'offspec' - keep in mind you can still only win one item per evening.
It might also be a good idea to describe which type of items are considered a 'fit' to what roles/classes.
Some items are pretty straight forward, plate with block/parry/toughness go to warrior tanks, plate without go to warrior dps, chain to clerics, leather to rogues and cloth to mages.
But there are also some items that aren't as easaly categorised:
we've been told that essences with more INT than WIS go to mages over clerics, and vice versa. Is this the same for STR > DEX going to warriors and reversed?
What about weapons? are there any restrictions on what you can roll for (besides ofc what class restrictions and physical stats vs spell stats)
I'm hoping we can create a set of fully fleshed loot rules, both because it'll speed up the looting process, but especially so new people have a place to read and know how we do it in DT.
