Do you guys remember Ezio Auditore? Its the guy in the middle of the signature up top, you stupid idiot!
Well, for those who havent heard of, or played, the games I'll provide a bit of information about them.
The game have a passive focus on the main character, whose name is Desmond Miles. A man who is a descendant of assassins, an organisation whose task is to protect the free will of man against the templars, an organisation who believe that the end justify the means to reach order. You follow Desmonds story as he have to relive the memories of his ancestors, not to mention accept and become part of his heritage.
ASSASSINS CREED
In the first Assassins Creed game you play partly as the bartender Desmond, who has been captured by Abstergo Industries because of his blood heritage. He are to be put in a machine called the animus, which makes you able to watch and recall the memories of your ancestors through your DNA. Desmond are to be sent back to find clues of the whereabouts of one of the "Pieces of Eden", in other words he are to remember the memories of his ancestor Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, who lived during the first crusade in the holy land.
They are however unable to access the file wich holds the specific memory, so for the next seven days Desmond will spend his time in the animus.
ASSASSINS CREED II
Directly following the events in Assasins Creed Desmond flees Abstergo with Lucy, the undercover assassin. She takes him to a hideout where one of the few, still existing, assassin groups currently reside. Arriving there he's almost directly sent into the animus, this time on his own accord and for the purpose to train through the bleeding effect. The bleeding effect is a bieffect from the act of watching ancestors memories, their skills literally "bleed" into you, and Desmond have already suffered from it; taking the form of Eagle Vision. But, as with all thing, bieffects arent always good, as you will get to know in the following games.
This time Desmond is sent to the Italian renaissance to relive the memories of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze. You will watch him as his family gets framed for crimes that others did and get hanged for them. The story in large follow Ezio as he is looking for revenge, but gets more than he bargained for. Conspiracy after conspiracy.
ASSASSINS CREED BROTHERHOOD
Once again you are sent directly back into the story, this time merely seconds from the end in the vault and some hour after the assassins escape. This time Desmond don't have to learn any new assassin tricks, only a few days have made Desmond just as skilled as Ezio. You are now looking for the fate of the Piece of Eden that Ezio had in his possession, so that the assissins may find it. Sadly, Desmond have taken on the same emotions as Ezio when he was in the vault, making it impossible to access the file. Once again you have to relive the whole memory. Your quest this time around is to find the Apple and to rebuild Rome and the assassin order to their former glory. You also have a new arch enemy, the spaniards son, who took control over the templar order after the failure in the vault.
I notice that the writing takes a turn for the worse toward the end. But anyway here comes the new, and, as they said with Brotherhood, the last part of Ezios story.
(Ill update the trailer when its released, if i'm able to find it of course.)(Trailer updated, its below this one )
The following is a forum post with some of the released information.
Final Chapter in the Ezio Trilogy Arrives in November
London, UK – May 5, 2011 – Today, Ubisoft announced the development of Assassin’s Creed® Revelations, the fourth installment in the critically acclaimed and immensely popular video game franchise. Developed and led by Ubisoft Montreal with the support and expertise of Ubisoft studios Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest, Assassin’s Creed Revelations presents the most immersive experience available in the series to date and the culmination of Ezio’s adventure. The game is set to release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC this November.
Initially launched in 2007, the first three Assassin’s Creed® games have sold more than 28 million units worldwide, and the franchise is now established as one of the best-selling series on next generation consoles. Recognized for having some of the richest, most engrossing storytelling in the industry, Assassin’s Creed has transcended video games, branching out into other entertainment experiences such as comic books, Facebook, novels, short films and more.
In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.
In addition to Ezio’s award-winning story, the acclaimed online multiplayer experience returns, refined and expanded, with more modes, more maps and more characters that allow players to test their assassin skills against others from around the world. The latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga also includes revolutionary gameplay, allowing players to manipulate the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future.
“Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans,” said Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal. “Assassin’s Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year.”
Other than the fact that I have hated the idea of an internet connection even while playing single player I've had nothing against the series in itself. However, if there is some truth to what I've heard then the game will become even more complex than it was before. Here are a few examples:
Bombs: 300 kinds of them... I find the amount hard to believe, but if we have only 10 different, craftable, bombs then it's awesome. Yeah, they are supposedly craftable.
Hookblade and Zipline: A welcome part to the old mentor, 52 years and have to climb between different building? Nothing you make a "man at his age" do. Zipline across rooftops or use it to pull a guard towards you, a welcome new thing to use.
Eagle Vision --> Eagle Sense: Another thing thats welcome is the fact that the eagle vision have had an upgrade, you can now backtrack the npc, in other words see where he have been, and approximate it's destination, seeing where he might go.
Borgia Towers --> Assassin Dens: Felt bored at the fact that you took a tower and that was that? Well, no more, get known in the city and the templars will retake the different spots, both in the city of Constatinopel and in other cities around the Mediterranean sea.
