Aion Tower of Eternity - New MMORPG

Hey people, an upcoming fantasy MMO is coming out in Spetember - December. eu.aiononline.com/en/

I'm sure this will beat every MMO thats ever come out
the game is only out in Korea atm but that's because they made it :] but already just in Korea they already have 700,000 players!
From Korea there has been a lot of great feedback and they think it's great.
The Chinese beta was out a couple of weeks ago but is now closed, but the thing is in the beta they tested it out in English and a lot of English/American players got in and where able to post vids on Youtube and they all think it's great :}

I found out about the game when i just tried out Age of Conan for a while but still not good, they now only have around 200k active subscribers. Theres a global chat on there where you can speak to the whole server, everyone was chatting how the game wasn't good, so i asked, why don't you move to another MMO like lotro or WoW, I had a large response from the server and they all said the same thing, there waiting for Aion, they told me it was a very hardcore game and in the current beta testers it was doing very well, sot hey said instead of starting a game thats already out they were going to wait for Aion, so i checked it out and it was amazing Check it out

i think this game has great potential and can be a very good game when it comes out

im sure to keep a eye out for this one !
as i love to play a Templar in it

the game reminds me a bit of lineage also a awsome game
i never played lineage because i could never get my hands on a special edition box that holds all the parts...

wel i will try this one out for sure
maybe even make a fansite section so we become Deciples of Aion

I can tell this is a game I'm gonna avoid. Looks designed well and all that but I always thought that when it came to fantasy the asians didnt ever do a good job. That's why I never like guild wars or final fantasy. Something about all those style games just bores me for some reason. Nonetheless it looks like it will probably kick off well

Thought I'd share my Aion experience.

I've been following the progress of this game since well before it was in the beta testing phase in Korea. I'm now part of the North American and European Closed Beta testing phase having pre-purchased it.

It's currently at Closed Beta Test #4, due to end tomorrow and to be honest it's the one game that has managed to drag me away from warhammer. Shock O.O

I joined the Closed Beta testing at #2 which focused on the Asmodian Race. Beta #3 focused on both Asmodians and the Elyos race from levels 1-20, and I've just come from #4 which focused on both races from level 1-25.

From what I can gather the US and EU release of the game will be much smoother than the Korean when that was released, due to them already having a complete version of it over there. They've completely re-written the quest texts etc instead of translating it so there is no broken/badly translated language errors, and it's just a case of ironing out any bugs that come with westernising it.

There were a few issues with Closed Beta #3, the most annoying being that the eu only had 2 servers, with the US having 4, making the eu servers crash, however after about an hour or so of the beta opening, most of us managed to get into the game and it was fine from there. There were a few times where there was severe rubber banding, but that was solved by changing channel to a less populated area.

Going back to it at Beta #4 this weekend, things were a lot better. The Eu now has 4 beta servers to choose from with the new 2 obviously being a lot easier to get onto without any queues.

My experience of the game overall so far is pretty impressive. I can honestly say that I haven't experienced anywhere near the kind of lag that I expected to. Honestly it looks so good and with so many players around that you would really expect it to be laggy as hell, but it simply isn't. The PVE immersion is really good with a good back story of the lore of the two races, and the UI and controls are easy to get used to - most of them being what we're used to in other MMOs with the exception of everything bar your Quest Tracker being on the bottom of the screen.

Both cities look amazing with plenty of role play scope, and flying...well it speaks for itself. Shiny is the word I think. From the little time I've spent crafting I would say the craft system is not too different from WoW or LotRo, expect the armour looks way better - especially if you've taken the time to craft it - and materials are not too hard to come by.

I haven't yet entered the Abyss where the PVP takes place, which you can enter at level 25 so can't really comment on it, but I think the fact that you can battle the opposition in mid flight really appeals to me.

Overall if you're looking for shiny shiny you'll love it. It's the kind of game where it's impossible to get stressed out >< I look forward to the release date. Having followed the progress for a good few years, I'm not disappointed with it. I do believe open Beta will be starting not too far away so keep an eye out and give it a go.

Lil, ty very much for the positive info on this I've been following the progress of the game for about a year now and I finally decided to purchase a pre-order copy after much uhmming and ahhing (trying to save cash ) It's nice to have a piece from someone who's checked out the Beta and has a good deal of gaming experience Really has hightened my excitement and expectations on this a lot now

Isn't it just great

It's nice to hear from people that they're enjoying the Beta and theres not really technical issues All i keep hearing is positive responses. I would have loved to be in the Beta.... except I didnt get it >.<

So instead I got teh Chinese version Took a while to get it in English, couldn't understand how to do it But I've played it and I think it's one of the best games ever to be released, I'm sure that this will be the next best thing that everyone will play

I only got up to level 12 though and my bro to level 15 due to the fact neither of us could speak cantanise and couldn't get into groups or anything so was getting a little harder to level as we wen't on, obviously it wasn't really hard to level at that level but we thought we might aswell stop because when we get higher we will need to get into groups but it would be nearly impossible and hard to cooperate etc. But we both really enjoyed it and we still play it now just testing out different characters at low levels... but still fun xP

We will be pre-ordering it tonight and with that you get a beta key what you can use for the rest of the betas until game release

So I advise everyone to do so so you can get used to the game before relase date :]

EDIT: Just pre-ordered off Game.co.uk and it says I will recieve my Beta key on the 29th July at 5pm and if you want to recieve this code you have to have pre-ordered the game by 9am 28th July

Because you pre-ordered the game i think you should be sent an e-mail with your Beta code etc. I don't think it should make any difference.

The chinese version is great most rob just like the EU and NA versions, so can't really say anything really about it being chinese except Icould understand a word that anyone was saying ... I made some great freinds xP

But the graphics are great the quests are fun and when you get level higher then there will be instances/dungeons etc. and at 25 you have abyss PvP just can't wait until i can play the beta

Got a quick question for Lil When you pre-purchased it u got an email a couple of says before the next beta giving u you beta key? and with that email it gave u links to account creation and a link to the Aion EU client download? just wondering

Thanks for the info Levi Seen similar vids to the one you posted The graphics are pretty d**n impressive, and i'm super happy regarding the character creation system with it being so in depth Love the gameplay style and really interested in testing out the combination attack system in place

And I can answer the question for you regarding the Aion EU client etc; just sorted this all out myself To set up your NCSoft account after purchasing the game you go here:

Fill in the details required and follow the instructions sent via email (Note: The way you do this might be different to myself as mine was semi-automated due to purchasing the game and downloading it through Steam). This then gives you the details on validating the account and getting the client required to access the game The email also includes you Beta Invitation and you should get your access key some time before the next Closed Beta Session starts (that's the 31st July to the 3rd Aug)

So possibly see you in the beta at the end of the month Good Luck!

I created my account on NScoft but I needed a game card or serial code from the game but i've not recieved that yet so once i do I should most probably be able to get the EU beta client

Great to see people interested in this game. The next closed beta starts on the 31st of July evening time - actual times are on the website but usually it's 8pm or 9pm and it lasts until the following monday. It's for levels 1-30 for both races, so will be a great one for new players to try a good chunk of the game play out.

As for the EU beta client, you get a link once you have pre-purchased, directing you to download the client. At the moment it is labelled as the North American client but as long as you set the settings to EU it should be fine (this is usually automatically done for you if you are downloading from the link provided). Then all you do is wait until the beta is live, log on, pick an eu server and start playing. I'd advise not to choose Ariel as a server because that has the most queues.
