ok this topic is meant to help you downgrade your psp
and if you got questions about your psp just ask there are no stupid questions its all about you having fun with your psp
and that you dont brick it because its not al clear to you
remember people there is no shame to ask me or other people for help

oke ,before i begin im going to explain to you what i already know
so correct me if im wrong
if you buy a psp you always check what firmware it is
firmware are the version of the psp,you can check this at system settings>system info
remember 1 thing people:if you got a version/firmware 1.5 its worth gold!!!
why? because you already seen this:2.71 se_a,3.03 oe_b ect
that kind of firmwares are hacked firmwares,what are hacked firmwares ??
with hacked firmwares you can easier put things on your psp and normal fimwares can not.so....you just might wanna play super nintendo games ....or...games that you normaly have to buy in a store,just download them and play them on your psp,how?
for that you realy have to get firmware 1.50!!

1.5>2.71SE-A,B,C>3.02 OE-A,A'>3.03 OE-A,B,C
dont worry about the setup below i wil explain that later
here at the top i show you how you buy your psp,you start at a 1.5 that you can update every time
updates are meant to make your psp better,every time you update your psp you get more settings on your psp
example like 1.5 you can see fotos only in your menu but if you upgrade it to a 3.02 then in that update you get a camera option that you can attach a camera in your usb port at the top of your pspgot it?
2.0 is better than 1.5,2.5 is better than 2.0 and so on and so on
how higher you get in your upgrades the more your psp can do......with limited restrictions
what do i mean with limited restrictions?
? wel with a 2.5 and a 2.6 than you have
a new upgrade and better settings but you cant play super nintendo games,or downloaded games
that you normaly have to buy in a store
wel ,what have they done my deer people....hackers know that not one of the firmwares can play downloaded games
not even if you have 2.71 or higher than that
and i wil come back what i said before only 1.5 can do that,play downloaded games,play super nintendo games.....only 1.5 can handel that

but wait....i got a firmware higher than 1.5..... i got version 2.71 or...

those downgraders will make it able for you to downgrade from version 2.71 (now even a higher version can be downgraded ) to 1.5
and maybe you forgot the things i just told you en your wondering why on earth shall i downgrade to 1.5
because you can do more with your psp and play homebrew on it (super nintendo)

first downgrade your psp!
2.0 there is a downgrader,you got to look for it cause i dont remember where
2.6/2.6 ok i had 2.5 but what was the deal you had to do something with the game GTA to able you to downgrade your psp
but if you dont have the game or you are not rich enough to get it
then its best for you to use the 2.71 downgrader
so upgrade your psp to 2.71 and from 2.71 you downgrade to 1.5
because there is a downgrader for 2.71 that allows you to downgrade with the need for the game GTA
so 2.5>271>1.50

ok...now i got a 1.5 and wow... i can play super nintendo,but d**n i lost al my settings from 2.71
dont panic,the first solution came and they call it devhook
you can upgrade again to 2.71 and back again butyou lose your option to play super nintendo and downloaded games
devhook allows you ( its a program,selfmade,so devhook the also call it homebrew) that you on your 1.5 also can have a 2.71...are you still following me?

ok what is the diffrence,the here on the top i show you that with devhook you can go to 2.71 and very easy can go back to 1.5
so what option do you chose...you downgrade 1x to 1.5 and use devhook always to switch to 2.71 (and all your settings are in there) or you upgrade and downgrade every time
and having the chance you brick your psp,because yess there is a 4% chance you brick your psp.
ive done it 3 times once to my own psp and 2 times for some friends and its has never brickt
but the posibility is there that it can brick
so in other words ,with devhook you can go from 1.5 to 2.71 and easily go back again ( some games ask you to upgrade to a 2.71 to be able to play but if you got a 1.5...its up to you or you do the upgrade or you just use devhook you can let your psp think its a 2.71 and play your game and go back again to 1.5 to play your homebrew like super nintendo
but... for some people it was was to much trouble,what if there was a game that needed 2.71 and you have 1.5 you first have to start up devhook to get in 2.71

custom firmware lets you change your psp the way you want,imagine your own icons on your psp,like fotos,games,movies
you can just replace your icons with your own and also change your letter type!! 8)
but... what custem firmware give you...that you have a 1.5 and a 2.71 in 1!!!

normaly if you are on 1.5 and you wanted to play a game that ask you to upgrade to 2.71 to be able to play it ,wel we just dont do that we use devhook and select 2,71 and we play that game

first of all... you have to get 1.5!from that firmware you can go all ways then you can upgrade to a 2.71 SE-A ect

but maybe you are wondering..but what if i want to go back to from 2.71 SE-A,B,C to 1.5
then i ask you....my deer....why do you want to go back??
you got 2 versions in 1
you got 1.5 and 2.71 in 1
if you go back you have to switch again with devhook every time
now you have them both under 1 roof
final conclusion,2.71 SE is better than1.5 simple because you dont ahve to switch with devhook no more

if you have ever conected your psp with your USB cable to your pc you might have noticed the following things:
you see 2 folders:
psp
mp_root
click on your psp then you get
game
photo
music
save data
ect
if you wanna play downloaded games like iso or cso
then you just have to make a new folder and name it with all caps letters ISO
so now it has to look likt this when you conect your psp to your pc
psp
mp_root
ISO
in your folder ISO you trow all your downloaded games,so iso and cso files
get it ?
so all the game you download for your psp it has to be a iso or csoand you put them in your ISO folder ,you have to have a 1.5 or a 2.71 SE-A,B,C or
a version above that liek 3.03OE-A ect(but i wil explain that later :wink: )
so what you now have done is that you are going to play downloaded games of your memory stick,you got to have enough memory because some games are 700 mb if they are iso or if they
are cso the same game can be 400mb you see,cso make your iso smaller

you can legaly upgrade your psp then you get this

or you can use hacked firmwares + you have all the full version i mentioned up here and much more
