A simple question

Yeah it's dying. It's taken years for it to die but it's dying. No one can say it's a sh*t game because if it was people wouldn't play. You can say you don't like it personally but that doesn't make it a sh*t game, it just means your preferences don't match. Yes children made the game unenjoyable but you can't blame the game for that. It's the players.

Fun servers sound great for people that don't play all day every day just for tons of max level characters with all the gear. Sounds like CS:S to me, you play a server for a quick blast of fun instead of a grind up to fun. Kinda how I like it. Doro's fun is like Doro's love: Hard and fast

Though I agree for most parts but unfortunately the main reasons it was a success were for the following;

1. The game was very easy to understand and even master (Perfect game for your first MMO, imo)

2. It was marketed very well! one of the best marketing campaigns I have ever seen for an MMO. Pre Launch and Post

3. It took the best parts of MMO's before it and added to them


But considering they had quite a large and diverse IP they didn't explore the Lore of Warcraft that deeply so it never felt story driven. It's was just a bog standard MMO in comparison to my history of MMO's. But I don't disagree that it was fun and good for a while but definetely not worth 4 years, main reason it lasted that long is because its generally takes a newbie MMO player 3-4 years to get over there first MMO love and as WoW branched out and sucked a lot of next generation MMO addicts into the mix, it was inevitable that it would last this long.

The only problem I have with Hacked (Private) servers or Emu-servers as they are also known as.

Is that you are subject to having your server closed down via legal battles and thus losing the stuff you worked on. I know some servers like your fun ones mention you can easily start again.

So you inspired me to post the following Baldy, maybe take a look a lot of ex-WoW players have migrated that way.

only 1 problem gen, i played RoM on an older comp.. but on this computer when i run it it gives the BSOD(Blue Screen Of Death) windows error and i reallllllllllly don wht to fck this pc up

Fair enough mate, though im a little suprised. I have been running in on a very new pc that running Win7RC.

I haven't had any issue running the game as yet though its still early days, have you updated all your drivers? sound card? graphics? motherboard? hey even mouse/keyboard? Because as a general rule most if not all BSOD are the result of hardware related software rather than the software your trying to operate.

i know wht th problem is m8, the video-card.. tried n times different drivers same fckin result..... -.- i'll have to pass RoM althoug u r rite it's a clone of wow only th combat system is way above WoW's, craftin is a bit crappy etc etc....

Still all this WoW disscusion made me slam WoW on me comp, edited th realmlist file, entered a funserver and made a guild named dark templars rofl

you can always run your own servers just google "Ragezone" it a source for many MMORPG server files and most can be set up from 30 secs to a 10 mind (mainly db importing for time used)

the ones are preconpiled with self contained databases coz u simple change 1-2 line and run 2 files for working server, if u want to play on lan or online you can all though as stated some of the servers are totaly illeagal but mainly for 2 reasons

1: stolen offical server files - property of the company that made the game

2: private server files - thease are written by fans of the game to provide a free and leagal server you weil lbe breaking the law if u make money from it or modify the files

as an idea of how well thease server coders go i was play Aion 6 weeks befroe it was launch ed on a private server

there is alwaya a rish u will get sone if you letting others use hte server but htrere fiun for testing nad learning new thingd

1. work abit on ur english m8 i find it really hard to understand ya lol

2.1 i have a crappy PC
2.2 i am happy with th server i'm on atm

if you want to play a private the best your gunna get its Crogge he uses his own custom made server software thats very stable and most stuff actually works as about 99% of other servers uses Acent or Mangos which are buggy as hell

as a side note if you playing aserver thats 2.x v nad u wanna do pvp i suggest an affliction lock there amazing at pvp not only in servivabily but healing thenselves in fact there pretty much unbeatable from 3.x is about destruction dps build and they dont have a viable pvp spec as fear was nerfed so bad it becomes unusable after about 7 secs and u cant get the dots to cover there hp in that time

unfortunaly lock came a gimp class for pvp after 3.x if u play on a 3.x look into DK for pvp depending on the build of the server u will find that early versions of this have amazingly Overpower DK builds especialy 2x 1 handed sword frost build

again depending on the 3x build early Mage arcane builds was able to uinleach about 35k damage in under 5 secends making them unbeatable

Rouges from patch 3.x became pretty pointless appart from raiding

3.0 was an amazing build for beastmaster hunters as there pets could enleach hell and was nerfed in 3.1 (dino is best pet for dps) 3.1-3.23 was all about survial builds where a bug allowed you unleach some major dps killing most ppl in a cpl of seconds with explosive shot


if your really into your pvp it might be worth payingto play as u are now able to lvl from 10-80 playing battlegrounds u dont have do a single quest or kill a single mob once u hit 10


patch 3.x also brough you the Retribution pally that had amazing poser to unleach a lot of damage extremly fast and had 2 instant heals making them a total faceroll class htye also becase amazing for lvling up fast incase u ewanted to ho healer or tank later becase there aoe capabily was through the roof and the prottection build was amazing for farming u could clear a lot of instance in 2-3 pulls making a massive amount of gold (than god for duel spec in patch 3.x farming and dps mode = WIN)

if you wany my humble opinion forget WoW its basicly full of gold spammers and kids nad the pvp side is for a litttle more grown up where u might wanna learn the maths involed for each skill and stats as this will give u large edge, knowing the math is almost manditory and u will need a fair amount of addons to aid in what rotations to use to masimise your dps and survivabilty

for example this is a basic spell damage dps formula

[(Spell Hit % / 100 - Spell Crit % / 100)(Average Spell Damage + Bonus Spell Damage) + (Spell Crit % / 100)(1 + Bonus Spell Crit % / 100)(Average Spell Damage + Bonus Spell Damage)] / Spell Cast Time

this is for armour pentration stat u get on your gear
