In recent weeks, several DT members including myself have been playing online Poker using PKR (www.pkr.com).
The game is quick to download, easy to install, and easy to play. The game is fully 3D with great graphics that can be adjusted to suit your PC spec, multiple viewing angles, friends list, emotes, and custom character creation. Of course, we play with 'play' money in game, so there is also the added benefit of no real-life bankruptcy!
The Pudzeh Plan
DT will be holding a weekly Dark Templars Poker Tournament on PKR. Depending on how much interest there is week to week, we will run either a 6-man or 10-man table.
Instead of real money, DT will use LOTRO in-game money as the stake. Each player needs 1 Gold of LOTRO money to buy-in. Once your application is confirmed, you will be required to post your gold coin to me, MagicGibbon, from within LOTRO. Your gold coin (1000 silver), represents $1000 of PKR Play Money. This is your limit, and no further buy-ins are permitted once the game is in progress.
Prizes
6 Players
1st Place - 5 Gold
2nd Place - 1 Gold
10 Players
1st Place - 9 Gold
2nd Place - 1 Gold
Prizes will be mailed to you within LOTRO shortly after the Poker game has finished.
Rules
DT will be playing Texas Hold'em rules for this tournament. As previously stated, buy-in will be $1000 (1 Gold).
Blinds will be $5 and $10 (5 Silver, 10 Silver), and there will be No Limit on raises.

What Next?
Dates for the first Dark Templars Poker Tournament will be announced in the coming weeks. There will be a limit of 10 signups, FCFS.
Players will be required to install and log on to TeamSpeak and join our Poker channel. From here you will be given instructions on how to setup and join the game. Due to the weight of the PKR download (once you run the installer), players are strongly advised to begin installation several hours prior to the tournament starting.

The tournaments will run from 9pm onwards, and may last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on how much caution is thrown to the wind.
Note: At present, PKR does not grant free-members access to the private table feature, so we will simply choose an empty public table and all join simultaniously. However, once players are eliminated, it is important that they remain seated in-game for the duration of the tournament to ensure no random members of the public join the table at the vacant seat! Stick around and see which DT member is going to stroll home with your valuable LOTRO money!
